The Theme -- Unconditoinal Love

I think that the central theme of the story is Unconditional Love.

I think so because of the two holy writs of the Speaker:

The Hive Queen and the Hegomon.

Ender wrote as the Speaker of the Dead for the Buggers, or the Hive Queen,

because Ender really understood and loved the Buggers.

Can you tell me why Ender would love the Buggers? Because of remoarse? or Guilt? I think not.

Ender also wrote for Peter, his brother. Peter was the one who wanted to kill Ender.
He was the one who never loved Ender. He was the one who only tried to use Ender.

Ender wrote for Peter as the Speaker.

Such love... unconditional!

Also, there is the fact that Valentine's character could just be described by love.
Unconditional love.

So why don't we start loving each other like these ten, eleven year olds?

I agree with you that LOVE is consistent and evident throught the book. As you said, even 10, 11 years olds have this kind of 'unconditional' love. Maybe this book is meant to give a moral of loving each others. Like the Wiggins did as geniuses, but still children, we can also do it. It was amazing for me to see how Valentine and Ender could still love Peter after all the things he said and the treats he made to them. Nice blog.

hi this is ina! zzz

I disagree with you. It is true that this book contains little bit of love, but not much. You said that unconditional love is your theme of the whole story, but i think the theme is the manipulaton and hatred among people. Adults' manipulation toward children, and hatred between children(everyone hates Ender because of he's like a genius.)was theme of this book.
but i agree with you that love is very strong and consistent.
